Ballina Welcomes the Arrival of Shaws Department Stores
Shaws Department Stores officially opened their 16th store in Ireland in Tone Street, Ballina. Celebrations included an array of festivities and entertainment with face painting, balloons and plenty of surprises throughout the weekend including a special guest appearance from Fair City actresses, Sorcha Furlong aka Orla Kirwan and Sarah McDowell aka Suzanne Doyle.
Shaws Department Stores Ballina is their second store in Connaught following on from the success of Castlebar which opened in October 2006. Trading for 140 years, it is the only Irish owned and family run department store company of its size in Ireland and will employ approx 70 people.
Speaking at the opening of the new store, Jonathan Shaw, Managing Director of Shaws said, “County Mayo has provided Shaws with a great opportunity to show case our extensive range of top brands and concessions that Shaws are renowned for. After months of planning and significant investment by our company, we are delighted that we can extend our retail environment to the people of Ballina and its environs. We look forward to continued success in Mayo”.
The new Shaws outlet in Ballina hosts a selection of concessions within the store, including Principles, Jacques Vert, Bay, Michael H and Country Casuals, Daniel Grahame, Wrangler, Woolsey and Adams Kids. Shaws of Ballina boasts an extensive selection of home and lifestyle collections as well as cosmetics, footwear and lingerie.
Shaws of Ballina trades off 25,000 square feet over two floors of bright, modern retail space.
Shaws Department Store, Tone Street, Ballina will be open 7 days, and will trade Sundays and Bank Holidays.
