Shaws Department Stores Celebrate 145 Years of Successful Trading

Shaws Department Stores celebrate 145 years of successful trading this year, one of just a handful of Irish companies to reach this milestone. Founded in 1864 by Henry Shaw, the first Shaws store was a small drapery shop in Mountmellick County Laois. Since then, the company has remained a family owned business, continuing to go from strength to strength and has now expanded to 16 department stores nationwide.

In recent years, the Shaw Group has extensively refurbished a number of its existing branches alongside continued expansion with new stores, such as Ballina, Castlebar and Drogheda.
